Belmar Fire Department was dispatched at approximately 8:25 AM to a reported fire in the area of 8th Av & A St. While responding units were updated of a confirmed vehicle fire in the rear of a property with exposure to a detached garage. Upon arrival crews stretched a 1 3/4" handline to the rear of the property and quickly extinguished the fire and prevented extension into the garage.

Crews extinguished the fire and checked for extension in the garage. There was no extension into the building. Crews wet down the building to ensure the fire would not spread. Belmar Fire Department was dispatched at approx. 11am to 8th Av & Railroad Av for a report of a vehicle struck by train. Upon arrival units found an overturned vehicle with the occupant trapped inside. Fire department units stood by as the vehicle was moved and the victim the was removed. Once the victim was removed and vehicle was delcared safe the fire department secured.
